Recurring invoices
A retainer thatbills itself.
Set the client, the lines and the day. On the day it raises a draft for you to check, issues it, or issues it and emails the client their link, whichever you chose.
Schedule · active
Northfield Organics — monthly retainer
On the day
Numbered on 01 Oct and the link is emailed to the client the same morning.
Next three
01 Oct 2026 · 01 Nov 2026 · 01 Dec 2026
Dates are counted from the start date, not from the last run — so a schedule on the 31st doesn't drift to the 28th and stay there.
Sample · a start date in the past never back-bills
No. 01How it works
Set once, on time after.
- 01
Lines and client
The same editor as any invoice, so the tax and place of supply are decided the same way.
- 02
How often
Weekly, monthly, quarterly, every six months or yearly, and every second or third one of those.
- 03
How it ends
Never, on a date, or after a number of invoices.
- 04
What it does on the day
Leave a draft, issue, or issue and email the client.
No. 02The careful parts
It never bills the wrong day.
No back-billing
A start date in the past sets the day of the month; it never raises the months already gone.
Numbers stay in date order
If issuing would put a number out of date order, it leaves a draft instead and tells you why.
Run now, safely
An early run raises an extra invoice and consumes nothing; only a run on or after the due date moves the schedule on.
Pause, skip, resume
Pause a schedule, skip the next run, or end it. Every run is kept on the schedule with what it raised, so “did this month go out?” has an answer.
No. 03Plans
Which plan has it.

No. 04Questions
Asked before buying.
01Can the invoice amount change month to month?
Edit the schedule's lines before the next run; each invoice is issued from the schedule as it stands that day.
02Does it email the client automatically?
Only if you chose “issue and email” for that schedule.
